Kris Kristofferson, aside from being one of the great songwriters, was also a movie-star and actor. An insightful person, Kris always spoke the truth in relation to music and social conscience, and called it as he sees it in this short interview.

Very few people know that he was a Rhodes Scholar with a Master’s in English Lit from Oxford.

Each year 32 young students from the United States are selected as Rhodes Scholars, through a decentralized process representing the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. territories. Applicants from more than 320 American colleges and universities have been selected as Rhodes Scholars. The Rhodes Scholarship is extremely competitive, even for the best and brightest applicants, and its application process is time-consuming and complex. There are a total of about, 4,500 living Rhodes Scholars. The Rhodes Scholarship covers Oxford University course fees, as well as providing an annual stipend.
