Why did I put this country song on my Sinatra-inspired album?
Frank Sinatra was a great admirer of Kris Kristofferson, and recorded two of his songs ("For the Good Times" and "Nobody Wins"). But by the time "A Moment of Forever" came out in 1995, Sinatra's career was over. So I wanted to present this song—one of my favorites—in a jazz arrangement, as Sinatra might have done it.
On top of that, I live in Nashville, am a fan of classic country music, and the lyrics of "A Moment of Forever" are deeply meaningful.
Featuring Greg Bieck (piano), Mike Durham (electric guitar), Chris Donohue (upright bass), and Derrek Phillips (drums).
From my album "Someone to Watch Over Me," available on iTunes:
