#4 Not Counting You - Woodshedn. from Garth Brooks 1st Album from 1989, his 3rd single released Jan 1990 reached # 2.
Woodshedn recorded at practice in the shed say about 1996.
-- Don't think have ANY photos of Woodshedn that’s Me, Lee & Ken up near Newberry...in a shed… mostly practicing up songs from 1994-‘97. Wanted a Garth song with drums as next few are just fingerpicking guitar. I’m sure Lee took pix of our practice "Shed" set up. Might have made a video or two He wavy melted the silver covering on the Pearl Set cause we moved around equipment so much… and he got it too close to the woodstove. First gig at Puff’s Pub was New Year’s Eve 94, then around Engadine, last was way over Iron Mt in ‘97. Me & Lee we were still playing with Countryside...so.
A Live recording…. as Lee says here “We’re Plagued” ..we start some song and something would fall down, shut off, or we’d just miff it up. So I kept that fail-start. It took 5 times to get a good copy for this video-plagued as kept cutting short…or as this tape has wabble fever, every 3x rewind it goes into boing-boing land. …but got an ok take on it.
Made video collection of “Sheds” off web and guitars we had at time (not the owner, of any, visit their sites too). Ken had a SG looking Black EP-1 Gibson 60s bass into Fender B50. I started with Sparkle blue Peavy Predator (start copy)..constant tune-it-up. So got a Fender Mex-strat Artic White after a year. Traded the Peavy Envoy 110 for Peavy Studio 212, went to using a Zoom 2020 Effect pad rather than stomp boxes, added a Volume pedal after few times playing out!.
.. End of this band-- only for 2 months of practice-- we were a 4-piece well 5 with a female singer. Those were some hard but fun songs to work up…but to play out fought about doing the same ole standards until…until?
.. See lots others using name , plus bars, event music stores. Might get smacked behind that shed, but then if don’’t work out right should take it back to the woodshed. Always need to work on your chops. Don’t have many tapes cause Lee saying was, “you turn that tape deck on and it’ll all go to..”
Vid ENDS 3:32 after Lee says "How can such a simple thing ..be so hard.
