A Tribute to Willie Nelson during the 19th CMA Awards ceremony: Anne Murray opens the Medley with "Funny How Time Slips Away", then
Ray Price sings "Night Life", Emmylou Harris does "Forgiving You Was Easy",
Waylon Jennings adds "Good Hearted Woman", Juice Newton does "Crazy", and finally Johnny Cash & Kris Kristofferson & Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard & entire cast perform together everybody's favourite "On the Road Again"; then Willie is presented with another award, this time by the FFA; after all, this had been the year of the first Farm Aid show. -- Later that evening the Highwaymen appeared for the first time together on a television broadcast, and they sing their single of the year, Jimmy Webb's composition "Highwayman". They did however not win the award, that went to The Judds.
