This is a clip from a documentary short subject I made about oil drilling around the world. I got the money to make it after the oil crisis of 1973. I came up with the idea of a country music song to speak to what these men were doing and it happened that Waylon Jennings people came from the oil patch and he loved the song we wrote. It was extraordinarily exciting to shoot in all of these unbelievable places. I loved the oilmen who treated me spectacularly when I stepped onto their rigs and asked them to tell me what was up.
