???????? PARIS, FRANCE - Day 967 - After almost 3 years of travelling, I decided to visit Paris for the first time in my life. As a born and bred Londoner, not having been to Paris as a child on a school trip can be seen as strange and rare, however for me, I never had the opportunity.
Over the last 3 years I have spent a significant amount of time in lesser known areas of countries such as Mexico, Japan and Indonesia as well as spending two weeks chasing tornados in the States, 3 weeks in Kyrgyzstan and a trip to Pripyat and Chernobyl, but still Paris eluded me.
As a long term traveller, there can often be an element of negativity directed towards people who choose to take short trips to local cities for the purpose of pleasure (ie, tourists!), which I've been guilty of myself, but it's time to quash those views - being a tourist is fine!
This is my SECOND VIDEO from Paris (1st one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiNWTHx9gCQ). This time we head to Pere Lachaise Cemetery, home to over 1 million graves including the composer Chopin, The Doors frontman Jim Morrison and writer, Oscar Wilde. Who knew this cemetery was even here? I didn't!
We also check out some other things to do in Paris by visiting the Moulin Rouge, a walk through the red light district and up to Montmartre for some awesome views of the city.
At the end I highlight the fact that as a Brit, there can often be negative opinions of Paris growing up - smelly, dirty and the people are rude - yes its not perfect but my short time in Paris definitely changed my opinion. Before you start, there were other areas I went to which weren't filmed going to and from locations which weren't so nice or safe so I'm well aware it's not 100% perfect - but Pere Lachaise in particular was a great find!

Thanks for Watching! Tao of David is not your average travel channel. I left the UK in 2016 to travel full-time and sustain myself by working online (Youtube and an Online Teacher). This channel is not necessarily about the destination, it's about my journey, charting the highs, lows and harsh realities of long-term travel life. It's not everyone leads you to believe!
You can find videos from Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, Canada, Kyrgyzstan and more, focusing on travel and the realities of Digital Nomad life in an honest manner!
