???? Check out our Director’s Cut for Orlando Pride’s kit launch! ????
Orlando Pride paid homage to a beautiful piece of Florida history with their kit design this year, drawing inspiration from the Highwaymen - a talented group of African-American painters active in Florida from the 1950s-1980s. Specifically, the design pays tribute to Mary Ann Carroll, the only female member of the group. In a time when African-American artists couldn't sell their work in galleries, the Highwaymen would sell their paintings door-to-door, often out of the trunks of their cars. ⚽ ????
To showcase the determination and talent shared by Mary Ann Carroll and the Orlando Pride players, the kit reveal video highlights the connection between soccer as an art form and the players as artists. ???? ????
