A brief history about songwriter Jimmy Webb and his unusual Country Music hit song “Highwayman”.
Webb famously wrote many of Glen Campbell’s best known songs, including “Wichita Lineman” and “Galveston”.
And it was Campbell who introduced “Highwayman” to the artists who would make it an enduring hit…Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Kristen Kristofferson…a group that would collectively become known as “The Highwaymen”.
